General Health and Medical Research Fund

This fund was established by the Research Committee in 2013 to provide support for research at Calvary Mater Newcastle that is not specifically related to oncology, but still important for improving the treatment and care of our patients. Projects funded under this scheme may include research designed to benefit the wider community, such as examining how best to implement research findings into clinical practice, or more specific areas of investigation, such as identifying the different toxins found in local snake venoms in order to better treat people with snake bites. It is envisioned that the first grants under this scheme will be offered in 2015.
