Prof Joerg Lehmann (PhD, DABR, FAAPM) Principal Medical Physicist
Overview
Prof Joerg Lehmann completed his PhD on the design of ionisation chambers for radiation dosimetry in Goettingen, Germany. He moved to Stanford University for a postdoctoral position and subsequently spent 11 years in academic and clinical medical physics in California. Prof Lehmann moved to Australia to join the Australian Clinical Dosimetry Service (ACDS) in 2011, where one of his tasks was to lead the development and implementation of dosimetric end-to-end test (Level III audit) for Radiation Oncology facilities in Australia. He has been at Calvary Mater Newcastle since 2014. His clinical role is Lead Physicist for Implementation and Development in the department of Radiation Oncology. Prof Lehmann teaches Radiation Dosimetry at University of Sydney, Institute of Medical Physics, and he supervises graduate students at the University of Newcastle, the University of Sydney and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University.
