Conjoint Prof Peter Greer (MSc, PhD, FACPSEM) Principal Medical Physicist
Overview
Prof Peter Greer has been conducting research in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Calvary Mater Newcastle since 2007. He leads the Medical Physics Research Group. His main research interests are the use of imaging devices to ensure safe accurate treatments and the use of MRI to improve treatment planning.
Prof Greer has successful collaborations with various hospitals and universities including Liverpool, Royal North Shore, University of Sydney Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cancer Care Manitoba.
He is an executive member of the Hunter Cancer Research Alliance and Chairs the Radiation Oncology, Cancer Imaging and Technology Flagship. He is Chair of the TROG Cancer Research New Technologies and Techniques committee and a member of the TROG Cancer Research Scientifc Committee. He is Vice Chair of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine Task Groups 307 and 330 and a member of Task Group 264.
